You’re having a long day and all you want to do is sit back and build a ridiculous, hilarious website that you can share with your friends.
Who knows, maybe you’ll be the next Urban Dictionary?
You’ll never know unless you try. Give your thinker a kickstart with these ideas…
Idea #1: Video Games/Movie Languages
It’s common knowledge that everyone with a little nerd in them at some point wants to learn the fake foreign languages used in video games, movies and more.
If you’re more familiar with those than most (or if you’re willing to do the research) you can easily build up a custom dictionary that features your favorite.
Here’s some example fake languages to get you started:
Idea #2: Internet Terms
No matter what part of the internet you live in, there’s always people who can’t quite catch up with the latest terms. You can create an up to date dictionary of the latest Internet Terms …you can even include the old ones and make a note that they’re outdated now.
Idea #3: Texting Shortcuts
The same goes for kids and texting. How are the parents to know what those darn things actually say anyways?
Or help out the kid who didn’t get a phone till it was far too late.
Idea #4: Niche Lingo
Do you work in an office and like to make fun of all the acronym-words that have been made up to survive? Or maybe you’re a psychologist and when you and your colleagues speak you sound like you’re foreign because of all the insider terms you know.
Bring these terms to the light with a custom dictionary that shows them off (and even perhaps a few of your own made up ones).
Idea #5: Create your own language.
Did you ever have your own language you wish you could teach to other people? Make a website dedicated to teaching that new language.
